WWOCS Ontario Approved Trainer

What is a WWOCS Ontario approved trainer, and why does it matter? WWOCS stands for the Water and Wastewater Certification System. The Ontario Water Wastewater Certification Office (OWWCO) is the body in Ontario that approves both safety trainers and courses. ACUTE is an OWWCO  and CPO certified Working at Heights training provider in the waste management and drinking water industry.

The WWOCS is an online system under the OWWCO that allows operators to add information about themselves and their courses. The OWWCO is run by The Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC).

Some workplaces have training certification requirements because of their hazardous or high environmental impact. In the wastewater and drinking water industries, this is where the OWWCO comes in. Courses can be certified by the OWWCO as continuing education credits (CEU, 1 CEU is equivalent to 10 hours of training). For wastewater management, training courses can be also certified as CEUs, helping to meet worker training requirements that employers need to provide. You can read more about certification here.
