acute confined space training

ACUTE Confined Space Training: Kitchener-Waterloo

According to the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, you must receive adequate training if you are going to be working in and around confined spaces. Contact ACUTE today to register!

ACUTE’s Confined Space Training will familiarize you with the requirements of Ontario Regulation 632/05 – Confined Spaces. Furthermore, the training program is intended to provide you with the skills and training required to recognize confined space entry risks and how to establish measured and corresponding controls.

That includes the recognition of hazards associated with confined spaces, and how to safely perform the assigned duties for that specific confined space.

Even if you will be contributing to the task, then training is also required. This is relevant for attendants and rescue workers, for example.

Confined Space Entry Awareness Training Course

Confined spaces are high-risk areas on job sites and are not built for human occupancy.

Examples of confined space rescue situations include tanks, vessels, silos, storage bins, hoppers, vaults, pits, manholes, tunnels, equipment housings, ductwork, and pipelines.

Very specific regulations need to be followed by workers who work in and around these spaces.

The ACUTE confined space training program will familiarize you with the requirements of Ontario Regulation 632/05.

Furthermore, the course is intended to provide you with the skills and training required to recognize confined space entry risks. You will also learn how to establish measured and corresponding controls.

This course also allows you to become familiar with, inspect, and use confined space entry access equipment and air quality instrumentation.

Confined Space Rescue Training Course

The Confined Space Rescue builds on the content of the Confined Space Entry Awareness course to teach you how to safely perform a rescue from confined spaces.

It’s important to note that Confined Space Entry Awareness is a prerequisite for the confined space rescue course. Therefore, you must first be certified in the skills and training required to recognize confined space entry risks, as well as how to establish measured and corresponding controls.

This program has a very significant practical component that can be physically demanding for some. You will have the opportunity to extricate weighted mannequins from our confined space simulators.

Please be sure to wear appropriate safety footwear.

Employers, supervisors and workers who may be involved with planning or implementing a confined space rescue plan in their workplace should sign up for this course.

Confined space rescue is necessary for those working responsible for looking out for potential accidents
in and around the working area.
