The OHSA and the Construction Projects Regulation also outline guidelines for elevating work platforms, these include:
- Your elevating work platform cannot be used to support or lift more than its rated working load.
- You need to locate your elevating work platform on a surface that is firm and level.
- You must follow the manufacturer’s written instructions when you are using the equipment
- You cannot use your elevating work platform in a way that will affect its stability or put any worker in danger.
- You cannot move your elevating equipment unless all workers on it are wearing a safety belt that is securely attached to the platform.
