Working at Heights Refresher Extension Ontario: Until 2021

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development has announced that they are now giving workers in the construction industry who work at heights, an additional year to complete their Working at Heights training renewal. Normally this training has to be renewed every 3 years.

Why Is There a Working at Heights Refresher Extension Ontario?

The extension has been given in response to the COVID-19 outbreak which caused the closures of training facilities and the cancellation of Working at Heights classes across the province. The extension will:

  • Give workers the extra time needed to get the required training
  • Ensure that they are able to continue working as long as possible
  • Allow construction to move ahead without interruption
