Why Employers Should Consider a CPO Approved Provider
The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) has provided a number of training standards that ensure approved working at heights (WAH) trainers deliver: required outcomes, knowledge, hands-on experience, and relevant application to work site.
Employers who staff for construction sites must also adhere to the following stipulations:
- Employers must ensure workers complete WAH training – if they may use specified methods for fall protection
- Staff must complete Cheif Prevention Officer approved WAH training – if they are regulated to use the following methods of fall protection: travel restraint system, fall restricting system, fall arrest system, safety net, work belt, or safety belt
- Employers must provide proof-of-completion – MLITSD requires that employers provide proof of completion for employees who have completed the training. When taking a course with ACUTE, your employee’s training record is also kept as a back-up so your team can have peace of mind.
Home Owners Are Also Subject to WAH Regulations
In some cases, home owners contracting for residential repairs may be considered an employer. The MLITSD also requires that each construction worker WAH have taken approved training, otherwise, regulatory penalties may be levied.
